Started From The Bottom Now We're Here
Figured a quote from good old Drake in the headline is appropriate, as that is exactly what we did! The stoke was high last night because I finally got to ski yesterday.
We did some proper sail and ski. Came in to the holands fjord around 4am after spending the whole day at Bolga. We haiked the mountain there a second time, but this time from another side of the Island.
Yeah, I liked Bolga!
Back to yesterday then. We where supposed to go to little bird Island which is further north, but in the last hours of the day on Saturday, the plans got changed and we headed south east instead to ski a mountain called Helgelandsbukken. It's 1454 masl and when Elias said that we erte going to walk up and ski down, I just said: "ok, sounds cool", but I was actually thinking: "ok, how the f***k I'm supposed to do 1450 hight meters in one day without dying?"
Anyways, we got up around 10 yesterday and started walking towards the glacier and the mountain with the skis on our back around noon. So how did it go? Well, check the pictures and you'll find out.
When we started walking this morning, I wasn't sure if I would make it, but look at us here! Alive and kicking at the summit, 1454 masl. Pretty damned stoked. I put my camera in my backback and shredded some sweet lines almost all the way down to glacier, where we put our skis on the backpack and started to walk down again.
Walking down was, in every sense of the word, pure hell!! I was pretty happy when we came down to the gravel road again, to put it that way!
Made it down safe and sound! Soo happy!
I can't understand how insanely awesome days we are having up here, but I sure am enjoying it. In two days we should hit Lofoten and that is going to be really exciting! Only a couple of stops on the way to explore some more of the coast. Should be good fun!
Thanks as always for reading. Heading north today and hopefully my legs will heal fast because they feel like mince meat right now.
See you later then...alligator.
Peace and Love
