Lofoten Travels

Alone Time in Henningsvaer

As mentioned earlier, we have met up with four Slovakian friends of Elias and they are now hanging out with us on the boat. Therefore, yesterday, when we arrived at Henningsvaer and were supposed to hike one of the highest mountains in Lofoten, I changed my mind in the last second and decided to chill at the boat. Partly because I needed some time to just chill out and partly because of the Slovakian liquor that we had the pleasure of enjoying the night before.

So while the guys went to hike Vaagankallen, I spendt the day checking out the famous fishing village.

The guys' hiking trip was a pretty big one and it took it them 9 hours forth and back. A good one as well, I heard, so have to get revenge on that top later one day. Maybe this summer.

We left Henningsvaer a little late yesterday then, but as of right now we have midnight sun, which means it's easy stay awake a little longer and enjoy the light that surrounds us. We sailed to the next town called Leknes because we delivered our sails for repair by car when the others were hiking. Nothing big, but needed to be done. Been hanging out at Leknes Port all day, doing fuck all! Or I went diving for a lost fishing hook, but diving in these waters, even with a 7mm wetsuit, is not very plesant. I had problems equalizing as well, so no love with the fishing hook in other words.

Now we are heading out to Rost. It's the most southern principality in Lofoten and it consits of a few small islands and one big one. It's gonna take us 12 hours to get there, so it damn sure better be worth it! Arrival time back home is getting pretty close as well. Definitely have some feelings around that, but not gonna go down that road, or fjord, now. Instead I'm gonna end it abruptly right here and come back with some more footage tomorrow. Probably from Rost.

Take care in the meanwhile!
