In February I had a shoot for a friend and his pregnant girlfriend, great start I know, but when I had this shoot he told me that his girlfriends brother, Elias, was going to sail to Lofoten in May. Got me pretty curious as it heard like something that would be right up my alley. Except the fact that I can't sail, but that I figured would just be a minor detail to worry about. Anyways, I called him up and I explained my position as a photographer and a somewhat keen adventurer. Skip forward a week and we met on his boat and the captains boat at Frognerkilen in Oslo a late February night. We had some coffee and I basically told them that I'm going to sell my flat and that it would be cool to do a trip like this before I get drawn back to the hands of the capitalists. Probably didn't put it that way, but I sure as hell thought it. Now three months later I joined the boat more permanently and we are officially on our way. In a 40 foot aluminum boat. Me and three other guys including the captain. None of which I know very well, but my first impression is that they all seem like mellow and laidback people so spending 3,5 weeks on a boat towards Lofoten with them shouldn't be any problem. Really excited about the days to come and hopefully I'll be able to update here as often as possible. Heading out from the Oslofjord now for full engine and guess we are setting sail as soon as the wind picks up. Or they are gonna set sail. I'm gonna watch and try and learn something. Time will tell!
